End of Life

Details

The SpaceNavigator for Notebooks is a more mobile version of the SpaceNavigator 3D mouse. It is half of the desktop model’s weight and features a smaller footprint. If you are used to moving your traditional mouse up and down, and left and right, then you should be prepared for this mouse: with it, you can tilt, twist, or pull up on.

Along the mouse’s glowing blue base there is a pair of buttons that you can easily customize. You can, in a very simple way, assign the buttons a combination of keystrokes thanks to the SpaceNavigator’s easy-to-use on-screen control panel. You can bring up the SpaceNavigator’s on-screen control panel by clicking the left button.

What is more? The appliance comes in a sleek zippered bag!

But there is more. The software integration of this mouse is simply superb. The installation is quick and very easy, and the mouse will start working for most programs. Yes, it is compatible with Linux, Windows and OS X.

The SpaceNavigator is also reputed to be supported by a legion of applications: AutoCad, Maya, Adobe PhotoShop, Second Life, etc.

This SpaceNavigator 3D mouse is not designed to replace the traditional mouse and/or laptop touchpad; it works only with 3D applications.

It permits you to take advantage of the included teaching tools, especially since it takes practice to master the nuances of the SpaceNavigator. For example, nudging will make you pan in the direction you intend to go; tilting the mouse tilts the plane you are exploring; twisting the mouse rotates the on-screen object; and, pushing and pulling the mouse’s joystick up or down will zoom in and out. From this, you can tell that the SpaceNavigator is an ideal input device for 3D space since you can combine each of the mentioned movements for a quick action. For instance, you may zoom and pan at the same time if you push the joystick while simultaneously nudging in the direction you intend to pan.

Once you get the hang of it, you will find the SpaceNavigator very efficient in navigating 3D environments or spaces. You will get a better experience with this SpaceNavigator than having to click repeatedly and drag with a mouse, or use on-screen navigation controls.

Users who had a chance to use this appliance are overflowing with praise, thanking the designers for such a thoughtful and practical appliance that lets you perform a variety of functions without a hassle.

Therefore, it is very useful, intuitive and responsive with 3D applications. This is a must-have gadget.
