The NVIDIA Quadro K1200 is a powerful professional graphics card that was launched by NVIDIA in the month of January 2015. It was built on the process of 28 nanometer, based on GM107 graphics processor. The graphics card supports the DirectX 12.0. GM107, was a graphics processor, which is a regular sized chip possessing a die area of 148 mm square, 1870 million transistors. The Quadro is designed especially for the small form factor workstations graphics slots. The K1200 of 4 GB of graphics memory attached to the Maxwell generation GM107 processor.
Performance
The GM107 GPU is the same GPU that was used in the two siblings of the K1200 processor, the K2200 and the K620. In order to avoid confusion in the M and K prefixes, the company chose to settle on the K branding regardless of the fact that the three SKU’s are not based on Kepler but on Maxwell architecture. In terms of the features, the performance and the price, the K1200 proudly sits in between the two Quadro SKU’s that NVIDIA has in its current line-up. However, with the Quadro K1200’s compact and the sleek design, small form factor workstation models have much less to compromise on in terms of the graphics performance.
Application of the Quadro K1200
With the performance and the price, the Quadro K1200 is a well-balanced option. Those who are in the process of configuring, a new workstation in the conventional tower or the mini tower chassis may be provoked to give the graphics card a shot. The K1200 is expected to be a winner in the SFF segment because it delivers a high level of performance for the small price. Secondly, until the advent of the K1200, NVIDIA’s most powerful low profile GPU was the basic entry level Quadro K620. Even though the K620 was sufficient for most of the SFF buyers, the reality is that there are many professionals in digital media and finance that can benefit greatly from a faster performing GPU while adhering to the small form factor. Now with the Quadro K1200, the professional can achieve a performance equivalent to the mid-range workstation performance for the SFF models. The expectation is that most professionals will go for the K1200 as their next purchase for their SFF workstation.
Partnership with SOLIDWORKS and Autodesk Suite
SOLIDWORKS and NVIDIA have formed a strong partnership over the years. Each of the generations of the product that are produced in collaboration has undergone rigorous testing and analysis, which has resulted in constant innovations in performance and the reliability for NVIDIA Quadro and SOLIDWORKS users. Whether one is working in 3D or 2D, the dramatically improved screen resolution of up to 4x 4K screens ensures superior quality of images and larger workspace. Autodesk certifies the NVIDIA graphics processors. The use of AutoDesk suite to increase performance and to ensure reliable graphics performance is made possible using NVIDIA Quadro graphics.
