NVIDIA® Maximus™ Powered GPU Workstations

Visualize & Simulate at the Same Time, on a Single System!

NVIDIA® Maximus™ 2.0 Systems NOW SHIPPING!

NVIDIA Maximus TechnologyGrowing business demands and shrinking development windows are challenging engineers, designers, and content creation professionals to find creative ways to explore and validate more ideas—faster.  Many times this involves creating designs or content that includes a visual aspect and a physical simulation.  For instance, designing a car or creating a digital film character and then needing to simulate how air flows over the car or how the character’s clothing moves in an action scene.

Unfortunately, the design and simulation processes have often been disjointed, occurring on different systems or at different times.

Introducing NVIDIA Maximus: NVIDIA Maximus-powered GPU workstations solve this challenge by combining the industry-leading professional 3D graphics capability of NVIDIA Quadro® GPUs and the high-performance computing power of NVIDIA® Tesla™ GPUs. Tesla co-processors automatically perform the heavy lifting of rendering or CAE computations, freeing the Quadro GPUs to do what they do best—enabling rich interactive graphics.

With Maximus technology in their workstations, engineers, artists, designers or scientists can now interact with high-performance visuals while performing simulations or renderings on the same system – at the same time.

Engineers and Product Designers can now....

  • Design and render on a single machine without bogging it down
  • Interact with 3D applications while simultaneously running simulations up to 4x faster at the desktop
  • Reduce the need for costly prototypes by moving to simulation driven design
  • Continue to design while renders run up to 9x faster in the background
Video Editors can now...

  • Edit more layers and effects in real-time
  • Obtain almost 6x better price/performance

Simulation Analysis and CAD: Design engineers and engineering analysts are constantly looking for new ways to improve product quality while reducing development time and cost. This often involves simulation methods such as computer‐aided engineering (CAE) tools for finite element structural mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, and electromagnetics. These systems help engineers predict the behavior of components, assemblies, and full systems more cost‐effectively than with physical prototypes. Combined with high performance computing and visualization technology, they’re critical in the product refinement procedures that ensure confidence in design performance and competitiveness.

However, these systems often require investments in centralized server environments that are relatively complex and costly in their deployment. Servers help resolve bottlenecks in the CAE workflow of long simulation turnaround times, but have also shifted the long file transfer time bottlenecks from servers to workstations for simulation post‐processing.

Maximus‐class workstations leverage Quadro® and Tesla® GPUs to restore simulation turnaround requirements and remove all productivity bottlenecks. This GPU acceleration has benefited key CAE applications from ISVs such as ANSYS, Altair Engineering, Autodesk, FluiDyna, IMPETUS, MSC, Prometech, SIMULIA, Vratis, and others. As a result, engineers can now experience much faster processing from their desktops. This lets them realize model fidelity that was previously impossible due to computing limitations—and produce more design variations in less time.

With Maximus technology, you can perform simultaneous structural or fluid dynamics analysis with applications such as ANSYS while running your design application, including SolidWorks and PTC Creo.

Photorealistic Rendering and CAD: In ultracompetitive markets, it’s critical to shorten design cycles and present designs in their most compelling format. Digital prototyping provides an invaluable tool that allows designers to iterate and visualize extremely quickly and accurately. Plus, the organization can involve clients much earlier in the design process while giving them higher confidence in what they’re commissioning. Accurate rendering enables nearly any designer to achieve photorealistic results. Professional GPUs build on this capability to maximize interactive realism and increase usability in industry‐leading applications like SolidWorks, Siemens NX, PTC, CATIA and 3ds Max.

Maximus‐class workstations unleash the interactive potential of these design tools, allowing designers and artists to breathe life into their creations using an intuitive approach matching the real‐world behavior of light and materials. It’s all about concentrating on design—instead of CG techniques. The graphics and computing power of NVIDIA Quadro® and Tesla® GPUs minimizes rendering times and maximizes interactivity to speed the creative process at the heart of manufacturing, architecture, and industrial design.

Fast, Fluid Editing with Adobe Premier Pro: Digital video professionals are always looking for easier, faster ways to deliver great results. For example, working with more video streams and high‐resolution camera formats, adding effects without slowing the system to a crawl, or working interactively with complex modeled characters or scenes that include real‐world physics and effects.

For most digital media professionals, time is money. Using the most powerful workstation can make a tremendous difference in delivering the fastest results with the least possible production costs. industry standard applications such Adobe Premiere Pro, Autodesk 3ds Max and Maya, Assimilate SCRATCH, and DaVinci Resolve enable multiple layers of digital effects. These include physical simulations such as cloth,
hair, and water, as well as advanced image analysis and video encoding.

Maximus technology addresses these challenges by combining NVIDIA Quadro® and NVIDIA Tesla® GPUs
to deliver both high‐performance graphics and parallel processing. This is a truly unique technology that helps transform video editing, effects, digital animation, rendering, and media‐creation workflow's

With Maximus technology, you can obtain nearly 18x better Performance in Premiere Pro and 33x faster ray tracing In Adobe After Effects. Edit more layers and effects in real‐timer.

Second Generation Maximus Technology Is Here!

The latest NVIDIA® Maximus™ configuration is based on NVIDIA Kepler—the world’s fastest and most efficient visual‐computing architecture. This advanced technology takes simultaneous 3D design, simulation, and visualization to unprecedented levels of performance and efficiency. The latest NVIDIA Maximus technology combines the interactive design and visualization capability of the NVIDIA Quadro® K‐Series GPUs and the high‐performance computing power of the NVIDIA Tesla® K20 GPU in a single workstation.

This NVIDIA Maximus configuration is designed to maximize computational performance with a variety of new innovations such as SMX, Dynamic Parallelism, and Hyper‐Q. Together, they make hybrid computing dramatically faster, easier to program, and applicable to a broader set of professional applications across industries such as manufacturing, media and entertainment and oil and gas.

SECOND GENERATION MAXIMUS BREAKTHROUGH FEATURES INCLUDE: -

SMX
NVIDIA SMX
Delivers more processing performance and efficiency through an innovative new streaming multiprocessor design that allows a greater percentage of space to be applied to processing cores versus control logic.

Hyper-Q
NVIDIA Hyper-Q
Slashes CPU idle time by allowing multiple CPU cores to simultaneously utilize a single Kepler GPU, dramatically advancing programmability and efficiency.

Dynamic Parallelism
NVIDIA Dynamic Parallelism
Simplifies GPU programming by allowing programmers to easily accelerate all parallel nested loops. This results in a GPU dynamically spawning new threads on its own without going back to the CPU.

Bindless Textures
NVIDIA Bindless Textures
Dramatically increases the number of unique textures available to shaders at run-time, enabling more materials to be loaded and used faster resulting in richer texture detail in scenes.

FXAA and TXAA
NVIDIA FXAA TXAA
Reduces visible aliasing and delivers higher image quality without the performance hit. This is accomplished by harnessing the power of the GPU’s CUDA cores and new film-style antialiasing techniques.
