The Intel Westmere Micro architecture boosts performance even further for mission critical workloads. Intel Turbo Boost Technology increases CPU core frequency (GHz clock speed) to improve the execution speed when needed, whilst Intelligent Power Technology preserves power on unused cores when there is less demand. For applications that support parallel, multithreaded execution, Intel Hyper-Threading Technology has been re-introduced to reduce computational latency, making optimal use of every clock cycle (by allowing the simultaneous execution of 24x application threads).
