We use many software applications and techniques to complete each project, and it is never (ever) a case of just 'clicking render, job done'! Counter to marketing hype, no one application can do it all - in fact, on average we use perhaps 8 or 9 applications for an animation job and 4 or 5 applications to complete an image. This means we have a need for hardware that can be both powerful and flexible, and a network that is both fast and reliable.
We have purchased a wide range of workstations, dedicated render nodes, servers and video editing machines from CAD2. They have understood our needs and have helped us design an integrated system that works. A recent development in our hardware lineup is a series of dedicated, rack based render nodes. This has transformed the speed at which we can render images/animations. CAD2 are always there to help and we look forward to working with them to help us move forward with technology and remain at the leading edge of architectural visualisation.

I have been in the graphic design and 3d animation business for just over 14 years, and purchased many computer systems during this period, but since having purchased my latest system from CAD2 I would consider staying with them even if I was to move abroad.

Delivery was quick, the system is working great, and when I had a configuration question the support technician (which I got through to with no queue) spent over 20 minutes on the phone with me and smoothly guided me right through how to get things to work the way I wanted, and also offered some additional tips on how to make the system perform even better.

My workstation arrived the very next day, looking superb.
I had to wait for our IT manager to give it the once over. I did not need to alter the OS setup at all as it is setup beautifully. It starts up like a dream, runs quietly and performs effortlessly.
When my current workstation and render nodes reach the end of there productive life I will have no hesitation in getting back in touch.

It's always a problem buying something new for the business, particularly when you have very little time to research it, let alone understand it!
After trawling through many web sites in both Europe and the United States, speaking with all sorts of "I have the solution" salesmen, I was beginning to think there wasn't a solution out there; without going heavily over budget.
I rang CAD2 after viewing their impressive web site (still feeling a little apprehensive). Within a few minutes I realised that they knew what they were talking about. Their knowledge and honest advice gave me the confidence to continue and, frankly, the hardware sold itself.
The next problem was delivery. Against all odds it was delivered exactly a week from the date we ordered. I handed it over to the final user after installation and within minutes of talking with CAD2 he was outputting his first render, four or five times faster than previous.
We met the initial deadline, after 60 hours of solid rendering with time to spare (it would have normally taken over a week). We won the work and won the clients confidence.
There's only one word for CAD2 and that is "OUTSTANDING"
